Alexandria, Va. (Dec. 6) – Cody Lusk, President & CEO of the American International Automobile Dealers Association (AIADA), today released the following statement in reaction to the House of Representatives vote to pass HR 4468, the Choice in Automobile Retail Sales (CARS) Act of 2023.

“America’s international nameplate car dealers are fully engaged in and committed to the transition to green vehicles. However, they cannot sell electric vehicles that the American public can neither charge nor afford. Today we thank members of the House for voting to pass the CARS Act and taking a stand against regulatory overreach. With this vote, Congress recognizes that our government needs to approach this challenge thoughtfully and deliberately, and not with EPA-driven sales mandates. Dealers now look to the Senate to vote similarly on their own version of the CARS act.”
