Our Annual Meeting and Luncheon is a once-a-year event where dealer members come together to celebrate our industry and pave new roads into the future. Jim Lentz, executive vice president of Toyota Motor Sales, U.S.A., is this year's keynote speaker. The 2008 meeting will also recognize our first recipient of the David F. Mungenast Lifetime Achievement Award, cover legislation impacting our industry, and layout our plan to ensure our interests in Washington remain protected. In addition, AIADA Chairman John Hawkins will pass the gavel off to South Carolina dealer Jim Hudson, who will lead us in 2008.

The 38th Annual Meeting and Luncheon will be held on Monday, February 11, 2008 in San Francisco at the San Francisco Marriott’s Yerba Buena Ballroom. For more information on this event or to register early, contact Jermaine Perry at 703-519-7800.

The American International Automobile Dealers (AIADA) and the Association of International Automobile Manufacturers (AIAM) together hosted the first-ever International Auto Industry Summit in Washington, D.C. last May. This inaugural event provided a unique venue for dealers and executives from the manufacturers to learn directly from one another about the most pressing issues affecting the international auto industry in America. It also was an opportunity for participants to reach out to Members of Congress in a unified front via specially arranged meetings on Capitol Hill. The Summit was the start of a renewed lobbying effort at AIADA, and is something we will continue to host on an annual basis in our nation’s Capital. The 2008 Summit will be held April 30, 2008 to May 1, 2008 at the Grand Hyatt in Washington, D.C.
